US Open posts viral video which appears to be a date gone wrong

They didn't need to make him like that.

The US Open X account slammed a male spectator who was supposedly stood up by a woman ordering a Honeyduce drink in the stands at Louis Armstrong Stadium on Monday night.

Video of the awkward exchange can be seen the man returning to his seat with two tournament special drinks and attempting to hand one to the woman beside him.

However, another man suddenly appeared and handed the smiling blonde a Honey Deuce drink.

“This is a movie,” the US OpenX account wrote, alongside a video of the now-viral exchange.

With the match tied at 1-1 in the second set, cameras captured American Francis Tiafoe storming to a 30-0 lead over Aleksandar Kovacevic.

The man, who was left with two drinks, glanced at the woman and seemed confused as he took his seat.

It is unclear whether they knew each other.

All three participants in the conversation appear to be wearing wedding rings, while a fourth woman appears on the edge of the screen.

Some people couldn't help but joke about it.

“Next level friend zone” Someone wrote:

“This is a horror movie.” Add another one.

“The Real Housewives of Flushing, New York” Someone said.

The Honeyduce, which has risen in price this year and has become a cash cow at the U.S. Open, is a refreshing take on raspberry lemonade.

It contains Grey Goose vodka, fresh lemonade, premium raspberry liqueur and a honeydew melon ball as a garnish.
