First appeared on FOX: The family of Rachel Morin, a mother of five who lives in Maryland, He was brutally attacked and killed, The family of a woman who was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant from El Salvador in August 2023 has slammed the Biden administration for a “lack of compassion” over their daughter's death.
In a statement, Morin family spokesman Randolph Rice expressed “deep” disappointment with what he said was a “lack of recognition and compassion” from President Biden and the Biden administration, including Vice President Kamala Harris, for their loved one.
The family noted that Wednesday marked 75 days since Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, a 23-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for allegedly killing the 37-year-old man.

“The Morin family is deeply disappointed in the lack of recognition and compassion from President Biden and his administration,” they said. “It has been 75 days since the arrest of Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, an illegal immigrant who crossed the border multiple times, yet we have heard nothing from the White House.”

The family said the Biden administration sent a “disturbing message” that “the safety and well-being of the American people” is “not a priority” for the White House.

The family of a mother of five who died during an evening jog in Bel Air, Maryland, expressed gratitude to former President Trump, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and former Gov. Larry Hogan.
“In contrast to the Biden administration's silence, former President Donald Trump met with Morin's family on multiple occasions to offer his support and condolences,” the family's statement said.
“Maryland Governor Wes Moore also reached out to the family to express his condolences. Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan also reached out to the family shortly after the suspect's arrest. Hogan and Maryland Lt. Governor Aruna Miller joined the family in a memorial march for the first time in a year and signaled their commitment to honor Rachel Morin's memory,” Rice said.

Morin's family highlighted the human cost of the Biden administration's lax border policies and called on the administration to recognize the impact those policies have had on ordinary Americans.

“The Morin family's suffering is a stark reminder of the consequences of lax border policy and the human toll it takes,” Rice said. “As they continue to mourn Rachel's death, they call for the Biden administration to finally break its silence and acknowledge the tragedy that has shattered their lives.”
Maureen, 37, was reported missing by her boyfriend in August 2023, who said she had gone for a run on the Ma & Pa Trail in Bel Air, a quiet and usually safe town, and never returned. Northeast of Baltimore, August 5, 2023.
Her body was found in the road the next day.
Police say DNA testing has linked Martinez-Hernandez to Morin's murder.
In March 2023, DNA testing identified Martinez-Hernandez as the perpetrator of a brutal attack in Los Angeles.
“Once in our country, and perhaps emboldened by his anonymity, he carried out a home invasion and brutal assault of a 9-year-old girl and her mother in Los Angeles in March of 2023,” Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said at an earlier press conference. “And as you all know, this was the first DNA match linking Rachel's case to the Los Angeles case.”
The FBI said familial DNA — genetic material linked to a small number of relatives — helped identify Martinez-Hernandez as the killer in both cases.

Authorities said Martinez Hernandez was also wanted on a murder charge in El Salvador.
“We are 1,800 miles away from the southern border,” Gahler said at a press conference in June, “and the American people are not safe.” [the White House and Congress’] Failed immigration policies.”
Martinez-Hernandez was arrested in June in Tusla, Oklahoma, and is charged with first-degree murder, rape and kidnapping in Morin's death.
