Josh Hawley Urges Court to Keep Illegal Alien Locked Up After Allegedly Killing 12-Year-Old

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) is asking a Missouri court to allow an illegal immigrant accused of killing 12-year-old Travis Wolf earlier this year to remain in custody on $500,000 bail.

Endrina Bracho of Venezuela was indicted in March on one count of first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of child endangerment and one count of operating a vehicle without a license for her role in the December 2023 crash that killed Wolf and severely injured his parents, Timothy and Stephanie.

Travis Wolf, who celebrated his 12th birthday the day after the accident, suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital near Hazelwood, Missouri. He was placed on life support and died from his injuries on March 6.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official told Breitbart News that the agency could not comment on Bracho's immigration history “due to privacy reasons,” but Hazelwood police said he was in the US illegally from Venezuela.

Bracho is being held in jail on $500,000 bail while awaiting trial. He is scheduled to appear again in court next month for a bail reduction hearing.

Holly, letter Attorneys for the St. Louis County Prosecutor's Office are asking the judge to keep Bracho's bail at $500,000.

Ms. Bracho is clearly a significant danger to the people of Missouri and a child has died because of her. Not surprisingly, there is a high probability that she will reoffend upon her release, and the facts surrounding Travis' death are evidence of Ms. Bracho's systematic disregard for the law. Her disregard for immigration laws, driver's license laws and basic traffic laws is what led to this horrific incident. All this argues against the reduction of her bond. [Emphasis added]

I say this in the strongest possible terms: Bracho's existing bail of $500,000 will remain in place. [Emphasis added]

In April, Hawley asked DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about the incident, but Mayorkas said he was unaware of it.

“I know you think your policies are successful. You've sat in your chair and told me so many times, 'Our policies are working.' … Maybe it's working for your political purposes, I don't know, but it's not working for Laken Riley or Travis Wolf. … That's a travesty,” Hawley told Mayorkas.
