The lead actress of the latest Star Wars film spoke out

“It's not a huge shock to me, to be honest with you,” Stenberg said in an Instagram Story video.
“Ever since the show was announced, while it was still in concept, we've been subjected to an onslaught of criticism the likes of which no one has ever seen,” she continued. “That's when we started to be subjected to an onslaught of ultra-conservative bigotry, vitriolic accusations, prejudices, hatred and hateful language directed at us.”
She went on to say that the series was the victim of a “targeted attack” by the “alt-right.”
Stenberg has previously criticised Hollywood as a “white institution” and is known on social media as an LGBTQ activist.
“Representation in Hollywood is going to be an extension of white supremacy,” she said on the podcast.
Many fans rebelled when the series introduced lesbian witchcraft into the Star Wars mythology and recast the good guys as bad guys. The show's ratings plummeted, but a few who defended the series blamed its low ratings on a small number of hateful fans.
The ratings were hurt by the show's cancellation, and at one point it only had 14% positive fan reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. stand It's 18%.
The show cost $180 million to make, making it one of the most expensive Star Wars shows to date for Disney+.
Fee $671,641 per minute. Many on social media hoped that the woke show's demise would mean the series would return to a more traditional storytelling format.
