The suspected drunk driver who struck and killed NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother in southern New Jersey on Thursday night appeared to sigh with exasperation after learning he'll be spending the rest of next week in jail.
Sean Higgins, 43, was charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter in Salem County Court at 1 p.m. Friday.

Judge Michael J. Silvanio ordered Higgins held until next Thursday, Sept. 5, for a detention hearing.

“So… I'm here until Thursday?” Higgins asked the judge at one point during the hearing.
As the judge explained that the normal 72-hour detention period had been extended because of the holiday weekend, Higgins sat back in his chair and let out a deep sigh.
Higgins appeared before the judge virtually at about the same time the Goudreau brothers were scheduled to serve as groomsmen at their sister Katie's Friday afternoon wedding.

A ceremony scheduled for 1:45pm at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Gloucester City has been canceled in light of the tragedy, church sources tell TMZ.
According to New Jersey State Police, Johnny Goudreau, 31, and Matthew Goudreau, 29, were riding their bicycles on County Road 551 in their hometown of Oldmans Township around 8 p.m. when Higgins struck them from behind in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
