Fireworks for a loss?
Yes, that's what happened on an action-packed night of college football on Thursday, when Minnesota event staff set off fireworks after a missed field goal led the Golden Gophers to a loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Minnesota kicker Dragan Kasich came onto the field with just seconds left in the game and a chance to give the Gophers a big non-conference win on their home turf, but he missed a 47-yard kick, sealing Minnesota's fate. But the miss didn't dampen the morale of the event staff, who set off fireworks in victory.

Yes, it was a tough start to the season, but there's still a lot of football left to play. There's probably plenty of fireworks to go around and North Carolina is a good team. There's no embarrassment in losing that game. There might be some embarrassment in losing and having fireworks. They definitely want to turn this around.
The Gophers will look to bounce back next week when they take on Rhode Island on Saturday morning.
