LeBron James is certainly not among those doubting Caitlin Clark.
James watched Clark's Indiana Fever beat the Chicago Sky 100-81 on Friday night, behind a 31-point, 12-assist performance from the likely Rookie of the Year candidate.
“Caitlin Clark!!!!! Hello to all the haters.” James wrote in response to X's post:
Earlier this week, Clark set the record for most 3-pointers made by a rookie in WNBA history.
She also holds the league record for assists in a single game, the most assists by a rookie and the first triple-double by a rookie in league history.
Friday's win improves the Fever to 16-16 and moves them into sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
“This was big for us,” Clark told reporters. “In the playoffs, a loss and a win almost count as two wins, so this was big, but we wanted to win the season series against them. That was our focus. The last time we were here, we were down 15 in the fourth quarter and we fumbled, so this was another chance for us to come out here and show what we can do.”
At one point, it looked like Clark and Angel Reese were battling for the league's Rookie of the Year award, but Clark has struggled to pull away.
There was controversy over Clark's exclusion from the Olympic team, but even selection committee member Dawn Staley acknowledged during the tournament that Clark probably deserved to be selected.
Slowly but surely, Clark is proving wrong those who thought he would slow down when faced with professional competition.
Of course, James was never in that category.
But the cheers from some of the best men's players in the game right now aren't going to hurt Clark's standing in any way.
