Nebraska’s Dylan Raiola goes viral for similarities to Patrick Mahomes

Nebraska is hoping to produce the next Patrick Mahomes in more ways than one.

Five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola Comparisons to Mahomes have already begun. You could tell by the way he looked when he showed up to camp and you could tell by the way he played Saturday.

In the Cornhuskers' season opener against UTEP, Raiola threw the ball sidearm off his right foot while off balance, threading the pass to a receiver just like Mahomes.

Nebraska coach Matt Lue previously told reporters that Raiola “plays very similarly” to the three-time Super Bowl champion.

After Raiola was photographed wearing a Mahomes-inspired outfit in July, Mahomes himself posted to X commenting on the resemblance.

“That's my little guy,” Mahomes wrote after Tyreek Hill responded to the photo with, “No way.”

Mahomes on Saturday referenced Raiola's video post of the touchdown and reiterated his claim that Raiola is his “little uncle.”

Getting Raiola to transfer from Ohio State, where he was originally scheduled to attend, was a big win for the Huskers, who have struggled to gain momentum in the Big Ten Conference over the past decade.

Things got even tougher this season as the conference expanded to 18 teams, adding Washington, USC, Oregon and UCLA to the regular schedule.

But if Raiola can become the next big thing, something could happen at Nebraska.

He started off strong, completing 15 of 22 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns through the first half.
