Las Vegas hotel guest claims scorpion stung him in privates and ruined his sex life: lawsuit

He claims that since being stung, needles no longer work on him.

A Las Vegas hotel guest is suing after a scorpion found its way into his bed and stung him in the testicles, leaving him with trauma and PTSD and his wife complaining that their sex life is never the same.

Michael Furch, 62, of Agoura Hills, California, said he was staying at the Venetian just after Christmas last year when a scorpion crawled into his bed and stuck its stinger in his genitals, a sensation he reportedly likened to being stung by “sharp glass or a knife.”

Now he's attacking the part of the Sin City resort that will hit him the hardest: his wallet.

Ms Faruqi sued the hotel last week, claiming the Scorpion incident left her with PTSD, psychological trauma and a distressed sex life. According to Las Vegas' 8 News Now:.

“As the complaint alleges, we are also seeking spousal support from Mr. Faruqi's wife,” said his lawyer, Brian Virag, meaning that she claims the couple's sex life has deteriorated.

Additionally, the hotel “owed Plaintiff a duty of care to provide her with a clean, safe and sanitary room that was free of vermin, including scorpions and bedbugs,” the lawyers wrote in their August 27 lawsuit.

Faruqui also said the luxury resort and casino was already aware of an “infestation of poisonous and deadly scorpions,” according to the lawsuit.

“Our understanding is that at the time of this incident, both immediately prior to and around the time of the incident, there was some construction going on,” Virag said.

Falchi is seeking a jury trial to determine whether the hotel should compensate him for damages, pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life.

Falchi's ordeal began on December 26th, when he woke up with severe pain in his groin.

“I felt like someone stabbed me in the private parts,” Falchi told 8News Now. “It felt like someone stabbed me with sharp glass or a knife.”

He went to the bathroom to check it out — and that's when he found the scorpion “dangling in his underwear.”

Michael Faruqui (left) said staff offered him the room free of charge, but is now taking legal action with lawyer Brian Virag (right).

Falci provided police with photos of the scorpion on his clothing, along with a medical report he filed at the Palazzo, which included his suite number and a brief explanation he wrote to hotel staff: “I was bitten by a scorpion in my groin and testicles.”

However, the staff did not take his story seriously and instead mocked him.

“They were holding their crotches and laughing,” he said. “It was really embarrassing.”

The Venetian did not respond to a request for comment Sunday.

Faruqi was treated at Summerlin Hospital and UCLA Medical Center, where doctors noted the suspect's physical injuries and that he suffered from erectile dysfunction after the stabbing, the station reported.

“It's had a lot of impacts on my family, my work, everything,” Falchi said in an interview.

He and his family left the hotel a day earlier than planned, and the Venetian compensated them for their room costs.

“It doesn't really matter how it got there,” said attorney Virag, “the fact that it was there and that they knew there had been a previous scorpion problem at the subject property, that's obviously the key point here.”
