Press Vehicles Following Motorcade for Tim Walz Involved in Crash

According to reports, a news vehicle following the motorcade of Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, was involved in the accident.

According to WISN, a news vehicle and motorcade was on its way to Milwaukee's Summerfest. Involved Walz was not reportedly in the vehicle involved in Monday's accident, which “involved a van carrying reporters and staff accompanying the vice presidential candidate,” according to the outlet. Walz is scheduled to speak at a labor rally in Milwaukee on Monday.

According to the latest investigation report, “several vehicles in Waltz's motorcade collided at approximately 12:57 p.m., shortly after I sent my last investigation report.”

“One of our staff members in the media vehicle appears to have a broken arm and is receiving medical attention,” the update read. “Everyone else is shaken up but appears to be OK.”

“Our vehicle crashed into the vehicle in front of us which then hit us from behind, throwing us violently forward,” the update added, adding that other people were reported to have suffered minor injuries.

It was also reported that Waltz's car continued to drive despite the accident.

Walz did not speak to reporters upon arriving in Milwaukee, following the example of Harris, who wore an earpiece while boarding a flight to Detroit, Michigan, on Monday, in what was widely seen as another way to avoid speaking to reporters.

Harris has also faced harsh criticism for sporting a fake accent during the campaign.
