Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey is riding high ahead of Thursday night's season opener against the Chiefs.
Humphrey criticized Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce for signing a $100 million deal with Amazon for their “New Heights” podcast.
“I'm praying this to take it against him because he tried to take everything away from me,” Humphrey said on the “Punchlines” podcast on Monday.
“He tried to take everything from me. He has to pay a price. He has to pay a price for what he did to the podcast industry, for trying to exclude us.”
“Honestly, I don't care who he's dating,” Mumphrey said of Kelsey's girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Are the two engaged?
“…September 6th [the Ravens-Chiefs AFC championship rematch] It's pod to pod and we can see which one is taller.”
At that point, co-host Jack Settleman interjected.
“Maybe if I beat him, Amazon will give me a contract,” Settleman said. “…Are we going to smear him and say, 'Oh, Taylor's music is kind of boring,' or something? Do you think anyone on the field has disparaged Taylor's music?”
Humphrey, who made the comment with a sarcastic undertone, clarified that it was simply on-field abuse.
“He's a swear word ho,” Humphrey says, “but he's actually a cool guy. It's just football swear words… What can you really say about[Taylor Swift]?”
Humphrey went on to say that if he said something bad about Swift to Kelce on the field, they might burst out laughing.
“We were kind of coming out so I'm just gonna say it, if he starts laughing, I'll just laugh back. If he laughs, I'll laugh back,” Humphrey said.
“'Just kidding! … Would you like to come on the show as a guest? Maybe I should ask him after the game, 'I've got a pod too, bring Taylor on.' That would help bring the numbers up.”
Humphrey and Settleman then said that a future appearance by Swift on “New Heights” was “certainly part of our deal with Amazon.”
“Those guys are shit!” Humphrey joked.
