Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), a vocal critic of former President Trump, announced on Wednesday that she would vote for Vice President Harris.
Cheney, who served on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, announced her decision during a speech at Duke University, according to multiple attendees who posted on social media.
“Because we're in North Carolina, I think it's critical that people realize that not only is the danger posed by Trump, as I said earlier, that people should refrain from voting, but that especially in battleground states, they can't afford to write in the candidate's name,” Cheney said. Cheney added, “As a conservative, as someone who believes in and values the Constitution, I've thought deeply about this. Given the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only will I not be voting for Donald Trump, I will be voting for Kamala Harris.”
