Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) criticized former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, saying that while Ms. Cheney and Ms. Harris are getting “rich,” American children are dying in wars overseas.
meanwhile Busy Speaking to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in Arizona, Vance described Cheney as “someone who has spent his entire career sending other countries' children to fight and die in military conflicts,” adding that both Cheney and Harris “get rich off” the U.S. “losing wars, not winning them.”
Kirk noted that “every failed warmonger in the Washington establishment” has backed Harris, while “peacemakers” have backed former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Vance.
“Liz Cheney has endorsed Kamala Harris,” Kirk said. “What's really interesting is that all the failed warmongers in the existing Washington machine, so to speak, are behind Kamala Harris. The pacifists are behind Trump and Vance. The Bible says blessed are the pacifists.”
“You're right, peacemakers are blessed,” Vance said. “Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney are very interesting partners. They get rich when America's sons and daughters die. They get rich when America loses wars instead of winning them. They get rich when America is weak in the world. We want American strength, American security, and above all, peace. Let's bring peace back to the world. Donald Trump is the candidate who will get that done.”
“The best thing that can be said about President-elect Donald J. Trump — maybe not the best, but the very best thing — is to make sure that someone like Liz Cheney is laughed out of the Oval Office, not rewarded,” Vance added. “This is a person whose career has been dedicated to sending other countries' children to fight and die in military conflicts and to championing the ridiculous idea of literally turning Afghanistan, where many places don't even have running water, into a thriving democracy. And Liz Cheney was willing to kill thousands of children to do that. Liz Cheney, I think it would be the best thing in the world if she would endorse Kamala Harris.”
Vance's comments came after Cheney announced she would vote for Harris in the next presidential election, saying she could not do so because of the “danger” posed by Trump.
Cheney has previously described Harris as a “radical liberal.”
In the aftermath of the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, Cheney accused President Trump of “orchestrating” and “inciting the mob” at the Capitol.
Cheney has previously suggested she would not support Trump if he becomes the Republican presidential nominee in 2024.
