Poll Puts Trump in National +2-Point Lead over Kamala, 49 to 47%

Markets are on Trump Edge.

Nate Silver to Trump Edge.

Why would a smart investor bet on Trump when Kamala is leading nationally and slightly ahead in state polls?

A few reasons…

First, during the past two election cycles, polls have grossly underestimated Trump's approval rating.

Second, we all saw how Trump closed the gap in the final weeks of the campaign in 2016 and 2020. He's a great finisher.

Finally, what is Kamala thinking now that the stupid “Summer of the Brats” is over? No policy proposals. Refusing to answer questions or sit for an interview, even with friendly interviewers present. What's her second move for the next six weeks? Continue to hide and run around on the air? What's her third move for the final few weeks before November?

Debates usually don't matter much, but in a race as close as this one, next week's debate may be important. We know Kamala is not prepared. The best way to prepare for a debate is to face a hostile media interview. This prepares you for fastballs and curveballs. It stimulates your brain so you can think on the spot. And above all, it allows you to reflect and defend your beliefs. We also know that up until this week, Kamala was trying to get out of next week's debate by whining about the rules. She was obviously hoping that the corporate media would take her side and give her an excuse to back out.

This woman is under pressure, she wants notes and an open mic, she doesn't even want to stand up, she wants to sit down and debate.

Trump needs to calm down next week. Stay calm. Be precise. Don't ramble. Don't let her get angry. Trump has been running a very disciplined campaign these past few weeks, the most we've ever seen. Kamala can't run in any election, so all they can do is try to bring ugly Trump to the debates, the nasty, prickly Trump who attacked Biden over his golf score in the debates.

As long as he doesn't take the bait, he'll be fine.
