Authorities are finally responding to the growing presence of the dangerous Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua, in the Denver metropolitan area after a video showing gang members taking over an apartment building in the area went viral, sending shock waves across the U.S.
On Tuesday, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office arrested four Venezuelan immigrants who are alleged gang members for making threats at the Ivy Crossing Apartments near South Quebec Street and Highline Smith Way. Charged He was arrested on drug charges, stolen vehicle charges and other offenses, according to KDVR-TV.
The apartment complex is in southeast Denver, just a few miles from an apartment complex in nearby Aurora, Colorado, where video shows armed gang members roaming the apartment complex's hallways and threatening residents.
Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown said they are now trying to be more proactive in dealing with gang activity, adding, “We're looking for any violations that we can stop, contacting somebody and addressing any issues that they're having.”
Brown did not provide details about the investigation that led to the six arrested, or say how he knew four of the six were members of Tren de Aragua.
The arrests come just days after a video went viral nationwide offering a glimpse into criminal activity occurring in the Denver area as a result of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' failed border policies.
Aurora City Councilman Daniel Jurinski, who has drawn national attention to immigrant gangs that the Biden-Harris administration and Denver's Democratic allies have welcomed, also directly criticized Denver and Biden.
“This isn't just a Denver metropolitan issue… [it] “This is a failure at the southern border,” Jurinski told Breitbart News exclusively late last month.
