A suspected serial molester nicknamed the “Park Slope Prowler” for attacking women in the late-night hours in Brooklyn's Prospect Park neighborhood was arrested Thursday afternoon, police said.
Authorities say William Nwesi, 23, was arrested and faces numerous charges after he allegedly sneaked up behind at least four women and grabbed them by their buttocks in separate incidents between June 25 and Aug. 14.
Nwesi is said to have fled in the middle of the night after each sinister incident and remained on the run until this week.
The NYPD sounded the alarm about the alleged perversion last month, releasing photos of the suspect who carried out the attack within an eight-block radius of Prospect Park after dark.
Nuesi, who lives about a half-mile from the north end of the park, was charged with four counts of indecent assault and four counts of second-degree harassment, police said.
He remained silent as he was led away from the Brooklyn police station on Thursday afternoon and placed into a patrol car.
The four victims ranged in age from 32 to 41, authorities said.
One victim told The Post last week that she felt completely unsafe and was afraid to walk alone after 7.30pm.
“I felt safe in the neighborhood and liked to enjoy evening walks to get some fresh air after work,” said the 32-year-old woman who was molested on Aug. 13.
