Dennis Quaid makes rare comment about Meg Ryan marriage

Dennis Quaid isn't mourning the end of his marriage to Meg Ryan.

The 70-year-old recently reflected on his 10-year relationship with the When Harry Met Sally actress, 62, whom he married in 1991.

Appearing on Friday's episode “Who's talking to Chris Wallace?” Speaking on Max's show, the 76-year-old journalist asked Quaid how much of a strain the former couple's fame had put on their relationship.

“You know what? When I met Meg, I was here working and she was here and just kind of went from there,” Quaid replied, gesturing with his hands to Ryan's much higher level of fame now than when they were together.

“I tried to make myself sound bigger and told myself I didn't care, but I'm human,” Star continued. “While I was in rehab, she was growing. Meg is such an amazing, kind person and is really talented and deserves all of her success.”

Quaid had no intention of changing their romantic relationship, which resulted in the birth of their 32-year-old son, Jack.

“But I have no regrets about my marriage to Meg and we had Jack Quaid, who may end up being a bigger force than both of us,” he added.

Meg and Quaid's son has continued to land major acting roles in recent years, including a regular role on “The Boys” and a supporting role in the hit film “Oppenheimer.”

This isn't the first time Quaid has reflected on Ryan's rise to fame during their marriage, having previously admitted he sometimes felt overshadowed by his 'Sleepless in Seattle' star.

“When we met, I was a celebrity,” Quaid recalled during an appearance on “Megyn Kelly Today” in 2018. “Every time I went out on the streets of New York, people would call out, 'Meg! Meg!' And I really felt like I'd disappeared, to be honest with you. I didn't think I was that small, but I was. It was an opportunity for me to grow. I learned from it.”
