Reese Witherspoon and investor Oliver Herman's friendship has reportedly reached a new level.
Witherspoon and Herman have been spotted together several times over the summer, and on Wednesday they were spotted holding hands in New York City, with “The Morning Show” actress wearing a skintight black dress and Herman in a navy blazer and khaki pants.
The pair attended the opening of Assoulin together in New York City on September 4, with a source confirming to People magazine that the pair are “casually” dating.

A source told the outlet that the pair are “friends” and are “taking things slowly when it comes to dating.”
“She enjoys it but doesn't want it to be a major focus. She's busy with work and her son,” the source noted. “Those are her biggest priorities.”

In March 2023, Witherspoon and Jim Toth announced their divorce after nearly 12 years of marriage. The former couple share 11-year-old son Tennessee. Witherspoon was previously married to Ryan Phillippe, with whom she has 24-year-old daughter Ava and 20-year-old son Deacon.

Haarmann began his career in London with global investment firm KKR before founding private equity firm Searchlight Capital Partners in 2010. Company website, Haarman continues to serve as a partner at Searchlight Capital, working with his two co-founders to oversee the firm's portfolio.

Minority Ownership of the New York Islanders

Herman was previously married to Mala Gaonkar, with whom he has two children. Gaonkar is also an investor himself, and launched his own hedge fund, SurgoCap Partners, in 2022, according to People magazine.

Sighting with Witherspoon
Witherspoon and Herman dined at L'Artusi in New York in July after flying to the city by helicopter the day before.
The two returned to the city by helicopter in September.

Witherspoon's sons, Deacon and Tennessee, were also with the couple in New York.
Witherspoon feels 'authentic'
The award-winning actress has been open about her struggles during her divorce, and now being able to share her side of the story makes her feel more “authentic.”
“Being able to talk to people directly about what's going on in my life and share that in the same way that I share my amazing professional experiences and my personal experiences, it feels so much more authentic, being able to say things in my own voice and not letting other people control what's going on,” she told Harper's Bazaar in 2023.

Toth and Witherspoon decided to announce their separation in March 2023, releasing a joint statement.
