Biden took 48 years worth of vacation while president

President Biden is spending nearly as much time resting and relaxing as he does running the country.

The 81-year-old president has taken 532 vacation days in less than four years, roughly 40 percent of his 1,326 days in office.

Shocking data shows that it would take the average American who takes 11 vacation days per year about 48 years to save up that many vacation days. Compiled by the Republican National Committee.

“The image of Biden lying on his back in a beach chair, fast asleep while America and the world are burning, will define the Biden administration,” said Mark Paoletta, who served as general counsel for the White House budget office under former President Donald Trump.

“Inflation is out of control, prices remain too high, our borders are overrun with millions of illegal immigrants committing violent crimes against our own people, the world is in danger, and all Biden wants is to check out after taking more than 530 days off,” he said.

The RNC noted that Biden's fun in the sun in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, last Saturday marked his “16th consecutive day off.”

Biden has had a much smaller public presence since late July, spurring speculation that he is angry at fellow Democrats, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who turned on him and pressured him not to seek reelection.

A front-page story in the Washington Post last year noted that President Biden had spent 382 of his first 957 days in office, or 40 percent, on personal overnight trips away from the White House, making him America's laziest commander in chief.

Biden's 40% time away from office is far higher than that of former President Donald Trump, who spent 26% of his time in office on personal trips outside Washington, or 381 of his 1,461 days in office.

By contrast, Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama took vacations just 11% of their two terms as president, and hard-working Jimmy Carter took just 79 days of vacation, 5% of his first term.

Biden had lunch with former Pennsylvania Sen. Ted Kaufman on Saturday at Fieldstone Golf Club in New Castle County, Delaware.

Although aides have repeatedly insisted that Biden, like his predecessors, is working remotely and remains on call during breaks, he has been photographed repeatedly dozing off in Rehoboth Beach.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn) joked that Biden should do the nation a favor by taking more vacations.

“If he had been less active and taken more time off, we would have been happier,” she said.

“Unfortunately, he has rolled back President Trump's border policies, lifted the sanctions on Iran that made Iran rich, and implemented anti-energy policies that have made gas, food and utility prices soar. Things would be better if he did nothing.”

“It's no surprise that the geniuses attacking President Biden for petting hero dogs and liking ice cream don't count, but he takes fewer vacation days than the average modern president and works hard every day, wherever he is,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said.
