Kate Middleton continues her battle with cancer and may soon be back in the spotlight.
The Princess of Wales, 42, has spent much of 2024 in hiding while undergoing chemotherapy, but is hoping to make a brief return in the autumn after a “restful summer” with her husband, Prince William, and their three children. The Sunday Times Reported over the weekend.
Friends told the British paper that Middleton's comments in a June health update, that she had “good days and bad days” while undergoing chemotherapy, “still ring true.”
However, The Times reported that Middleton and her advisers were planning public appearances “on better days” in the coming months.
Specifically, Middleton “potentially” could attend the National Mourning at the Cenotaph on November 10 along with her father-in-law, King Charles III, who is also ill with cancer, and other members of the royal family.
Royal aides are also reportedly planning for Middleton to host the annual televised “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey in December.
But The Times claimed she will definitely not be attending the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa, in early November with William, 42.
Still, Middleton is reportedly working from home at Adelaide Cottage and meeting more with staff to plan for the future.
Middleton has no confirmed plans to attend royal events for the rest of the year, and those closest to her say “she is not expected to be in a rush to return to public life,” The Times reported.
“People know and understand that there is a long road to recovery,” a friend of Middleton's told the paper.
The Post has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
Middleton has stayed largely out of the spotlight this summer as she focused on her health.
In July, she attended Wimbledon with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister, Pippa Middleton, where the princess received a standing ovation from the crowd upon arriving at the tennis stadium.
At the end of August, she was spotted heading to morning service at Crathie Kirk Church in the Scottish village of Crathie, near her family's Balmoral Estate.
Middleton posted a video in March announcing that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you all for the amazing messages of support and understanding I've received whilst recovering from surgery,” the mother of three said. In a video message“The last few months have been incredibly tough for our whole family.”
She gave an update on her health in another Instagram post in June.
“I am recovering well, but as anyone going through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days,” she said. “I'm learning to be patient, especially in times of uncertainty. I'm trying to take each day as it comes, listen to my body and take this time I need to recover.”
The following day, Middleton joined the royal family to celebrate King Charles' birthday with a military flag procession on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
