The girlfriend of a murderer who kidnapped, raped and murdered a teenage girl on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2009 has admitted to lying to the FBI.

Angel Vose, the girlfriend of Raymond Moody, the man convicted in the murder of Brittany Drexel, pleaded guilty to three counts of making false statements, including making false statements to a governmental jurisdiction, according to court documents filed Monday.

According to the criminal complaint filed in March, Vohs, 56, told the FBI in 2022 that Drexel had his cell phone in his possession, when in fact Vohs “removed and disposed of Drexel's cell phone between Georgetown and Charleston, South Carolina.”

She also falsely reported to the FBI that Drexel had joined her and Moody in taking marijuana and cocaine, when in fact he had not. [Drexel] I was kidnapped under false pretenses.”

Drexel, 17, from Rochester, New York, Got Missing Before her body was discovered in May 2022, her body was discovered in April 2009 while traveling at the popular resort during spring break.

Surveillance footage from the hotel on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach where Drexel was staying showed her leaving the hotel on the evening of April 25, 2009. She had been meeting friends at the nearby Blue Water Resort, and that was the last time anyone other than Moody saw the girl.

At 9 p.m., Drexel was walking alone in Myrtle Beach when Moody, driving a Ford Explorer, approached her. They kidnapped Drexel with their car.He then took the girl to a secluded campsite near his home at Sunset Motor Lodge in Georgetown, where he held her against her will and tortured and killed her, according to court documents filed in South Carolina.

Moody dumped Drexel's cellphone in the North Santee River and buried her body in a “shallow grave.” Drexel's family didn't know what happened to her for 13 years until authorities discovered her body in 2022.

Drexel's mother, Dawn Plecan Conley, reportedly told reporters on Monday that the guilty plea “is a resolution to what happened, and she will pay a great price for what she did to Drexel.” WMBF News.

Drexel's father, John Kahyaogulu, said Vohs' plea “made me a little happier.”

“I'm so happy that she didn't just walk away,” Cahyaogulu told WMBF. “A lot of people have been working on this case and waiting for this day. Of course I can't wait for the verdict to be handed down, but it's been a long journey.”

Moody, now 64, pleaded guilty in October 2022. Kidnapping, rape, murder Teenagers.

“I served 20 years and thought that was enough, but I wasn't. I was a monster then and I was a monster when I took Brittany Drexel's life,” Moody said as he pleaded guilty in Georgetown County Court.

Vaus pleaded guilty under an agreement with federal prosecutors and faces up to five years in prison on each of the three charges.
