Harris' campaign released a new ad on Tuesday featuring one of former President Trump's main rivals and mocking his obsession with crowd size.
“Crowd size” includes footage of former President Barack Obama's remarks at the Democratic National Convention, in which he calls Trump “a 78-year-old billionaire who keeps complaining about his problems.”
The ad cuts to Trump speaking at a rally, mocking the crowd that had gathered to campaign for Vice President Harris, before cutting back to Obama's speech.
“This strange obsession with crowd size,” Obama said in his speech, making a hand gesture that seemed to mock Trump's masculinity.
The ad will air the morning of the Trump-Harris debate and will air across the country, including on Fox News, as well as in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump lives, and in Philadelphia, where the debate will be held.
“While Trump spends too much time worrying about the size of his supporters, Americans are more interested in which candidate will make their lives better — and it's not someone running on Project 2025,” Michael Tyler, communications director for the Harris campaign, said in a statement.
“Tonight's debate will show the stark choice Americans face at the ballot box: between a Vice President Harris who is fighting to make life better for Americans, and a man who only cares about himself and the size of his base,” he added.
The ad is the latest attempt by the Harris campaign to rile up Trump. Democrats have repeatedly denounced Trump and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), as “crazy” and criticized the former president for the rabid fanbase that Harris has garnered since entering the race.
