King Charles has “lost patience” with his scandal-plagued brother Prince Andrew's lavish living conditions and is said to be considering moving him to a smaller residence soon.
The Queen, 75, is keen to move the Duke of York, 64, into a smaller residence to “solve” what has been referred to internally as “the Andrew problem”. London Times I will report.
Prince Charles is reportedly bewildered by his brother's comfortable life at the $38 million Royal Lodge on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Andrew has been living there since 2004, having signed a 75-year lease the previous year.
Prince Andrew was on the verge of being evicted from the luxurious royal residence after his friendship with the late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein came to light in 2019.
But despite his brother's best efforts, he doesn't seem to plan on moving anytime soon.
Prince Charles has been paying for a private security team for his brother since Andrew's publicly funded police protection was revoked in 2022 following a Home Office investigation.
The media added that the king spends an estimated $4 million each year on guarding his disgraced brother.
According to sources, the emperor has now made it clear to his brother that “there are only two options left”.
The first is for Andrew to remain on the property, but have to foot the bill for his own security costs of $4 million a year.
If Andrew agrees, Charles would also stop financially supporting his brother for all of his living expenses.
Another option the King is actively considering is downsizing Prince Andrew to a “more suitable residence”, something the King is reportedly adamantly opposed to.
It is understood the King would be happy to continue covering his brother's living expenses if he were to move into Frogmore Cottage.
Prince Charles also said he would continue to provide support to Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, Prince Andrew's ex-wife.
“It's been two years since the king began his rule and he wants the issues resolved,” the source told the media.
A further blow to his downfall against Andrew was his name being mentioned in the Epstein documents release in January.
Since then, Charles has been fighting to get his brother off the property.
Meanwhile, Prince Andrew has refused to move into Frogmore Cottage, which is currently empty after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were forced to hand over the keys.
The couple, who live in Montecito, California, will vacate their luxury five-bedroom property in June 2023 and haven't had any new tenants since, they said in a statement. Sovereign Grant Revealed In July.
To find a loophole between these two options, Prince Andrew reportedly plans to bequeath the leasehold of the land to his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, for their use after his death.
This comes after it was reported that the ongoing rift between Prince Charles and Prince Andrew has left the brothers “disheartened”.
Princess Anne, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie are reportedly unhappy with the Queen's response, as are Ferguson and her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
