Independents RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard to spin for Trump at debate, joining Vance and other Republicans

Philadelphia Two prominent former Democrats turned independents who support Donald Trump are expected to appear in the spin room at Tuesday night's debate between the former president and Vice President Kamala Harris to tout Trump's record.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent environmental activist and vaccine skeptic who suspended his own presidential campaign last month and endorsed Trump, will appear at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, the Trump campaign confirmed to Fox News.

The same can be said of former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and left the party as an independent two years ago.

Gabbard, who is popular with many on the political right, endorsed Trump last month.

Trump allies say he should debate Harris:

The debate, which will be the first and likely last time that Harris and Trump go head-to-head before the November 5 election, will be joined in the spin room by Kennedy and Gabbard, along with other prominent Republican figures.

Topping the list is President Trump's running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio.

The agency will also represent North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, South Carolina Senators Tim Scott and Vivek Ramaswami, who were Trump's former rivals in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race.

The spin room's other key surrogates are Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott of Florida, Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Reps. Byron Donald and Matt Gaetz of Florida, Rep. Mike Walz of Texas, and Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota.

The news about Trump's spokesperson was first reported by Politico.
