Melania Raises Questions About Assassination Attempt on her Husband

Former First Lady Melania Trump has raised questions surrounding the assassination attempt on her husband, former President Donald Trump, saying “the truth needs to come out.”

in video She posted on X, promoting her upcoming book. MelaniaThe former first lady called the assassination attempt, which took place during her husband's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, “a horrifying and heartbreaking experience.”

“The attempt on my husband's life was a horrifying and heartbreaking experience,” Melania Trump said. “The silence surrounding it now is heartbreaking and I cannot help but wonder why law enforcement did not arrest the perpetrator before this speech. There is undoubtedly more to come and we must uncover the truth.”

The former president opened fire while looking directly at Trump from the roof of a nearby building, “struck him with a penetrating bullet” above his right ear, suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, said.

After Crooks opened fire at the rally, former Pennsylvania fire chief Corey Comperatore was shot and killed. Comperatore threw himself on his daughter and wife after hearing gunfire. Two others, James Copenhaver and David Duch, were also wounded.

In the aftermath of the assassination, reports emerged that local police had encountered Crooks before he opened fire.

Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle also said that no agents were stationed on the roof where Crooks was located because of the “security aspects” of the sloping roof, but the Secret Service reportedly considered the roof a security risk before the rally.

As Breitbart News previously reported, there were multiple security lapses during the rally, including the fact that the Secret Service reportedly spotted Crooks on the roof at approximately 5:52 pm, 20 minutes before Trump was scheduled to take the stage, but no action was taken to prevent Trump from going onstage.

Other reports said Crooks was “photographed twice by security guards,” law enforcement officers reported him as suspicious, and other law enforcement officers reportedly radioed in to say Crooks' behavior was suspicious.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) recently revealed that whistleblowers have alleged that most of the Secret Service agents who protected President Trump at the Butler rally were actually Department of Homeland Security employees, and that they had participated in a “two-hour online webinar.”
