A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper fends off aggresive turkey

Say it's cheating.

Wisconsin State Police troopers encountered an unexpectedly aggressive suspect: a 2-foot-tall, “deceptively agile” turkey.

The officer responded to a 911 call about the turkey attack last Wednesday and laughed as he described the bird's suspicious features.

“We're trying to negotiate. He's pecking at the tires,” the officer said over the police radio, while other officers listening considered sending him back up again.

He described the bird as if it was chasing an actual person, according to audio from the communication.

“Heading east. Male, about 2 feet tall, short beard. […] “It's mostly brown with some red and white trim and appears to be flying north at high speed,” he said by radio as he followed the bird on foot.

“Is he playing a game of chicken with you?” joked one person who received the communication.

The turkey was still at large after being chased on foot, but residents were notified to be on the lookout for a “suspect.”
