The Philadelphia Phillies lived up to their “Fighting Phillies” mantra on Tuesday night when a teammate was hit by a pitch during a crucial inning.
In the eighth inning, Nick Castellanos was hit by a pitch from Tampa Bay pitcher Edwin Uceta, clearing both benches before Uceta was ejected.

Uceta had just given up a double to Bryce Harper in his next at-bat, a home run to Trea Turner and then a hit by Castellanos, who pointed at the pitcher as the umpire stepped between the two.
The situation escalated when Harper began yelling profanities at Uceta from second base. The benches and bullpens quickly emptied and calm quickly returned before the umpires conferred and decided to eject Uceta.

The Phillies won 9-4 to improve to an MLB-best 87-58 record.

Meanwhile, the Rays fell to 71-74 and are on track to miss the postseason for the first time since 2018.

Philadelphia and Tampa Bay are scheduled to finish off a three-game series on Wednesday at 6:40 pm ET. The Phillies are 8-2 in their last 10 games and have a shot at a sweep.
