After the presidential debate, two female stars announced their support, sparking a frenzy of celebrity political endorsements.
Pop superstar Taylor Swift issues statement Support After the debate, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris posted a social media post that was “liked” by WNBA star Kaitlyn Clark.
“I did my research and I made my choice.”
Swift cited abortion rights, IVF and LGBTQ rights as reasons for supporting the Democrat for president.
“I am voting for Kamala Harris. She is fighting for the rights and causes I believe we need warriors to defend. I think she is a solid and talented leader. I am confident we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are guided by calm instead of chaos,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I did my research and I made a choice,” she concluded. “All research is yours to do and the choice is yours to make.”
She signed the message describing herself as a “childless, cat-loving woman,” referencing comments made by Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance about liberal voters.
Among the millions of people who “liked” Swift's post was Clark, who has not previously made her political leanings public.
Other female celebrities who have endorsed Harris include Bette Midler, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba and Reese Witherspoon.
“She'll probably pay for it in the market.”
Asked about Swift's endorsement during an appearance on Fox News, Trump said he preferred the endorsement of Brittany Mahomes, wife of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes.
“The truth is, I like Mrs. Mahomes a lot more. She's a big Trump fan. I was never a Taylor Swift fan. It was only a matter of time. There's no way she was going to support Biden,” Trump said.
“Look at Biden. I could never support him. But she's a very liberal person. She always seems to support the Democrats. She's probably going to pay the price for that in the market,” he warned. “But that's not the case. I like Brittany. I think Brittany's great. She's been in the news a lot in the last week. She's a big MAGA fan. I prefer her to Taylor Swift.”
