Aubrey Plaza is sharing her “amazing” experience of suffering a sudden stroke at a young age.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM's “The Howard Stern Show,” Plaza revealed that she suffered a stroke at age 20 that left her temporarily paralyzed and unable to speak. According to her, the stroke happened suddenly and “happened in the middle of me speaking.”
“I was on the train to Astoria to have lunch with a friend and I walked into their apartment, I hadn't even taken my jacket off and all of a sudden it happened,” she told the radio show, adding, “It was incredible.”
She continued, “I was paralyzed, but only for about a minute. I lost all mobility for a second. The weirdest thing was, I forgot how to talk.”

Aubrey Plaza explains why she stole notes from Biden's desk while filming 'Parks and Recreation'
The actress has spoken out about her stroke in the past, telling David Letterman “it was kind of a freak event” during a 2011 appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
At the time, the actress didn't know what caused her stroke, and she told the talk show host that doctors had different ideas about what caused it — some thought it was due to hormones, while others thought it might have to do with her migraines.
“The right side of my body got stuck and I looked down at my arm and thought, 'Whose arm is that? It's not connected to my body,'” she explained. “I blacked out and couldn't speak. I was aphasic for a few days afterwards… My friends thought I was joking and would tell me to 'stop it' because I was always telling weird jokes.”
She told the talk show host that paramedics believed she had been using drugs since she was a child and that the possibility of a stroke wasn't the first thing that crossed their minds. The “Parks and Recreation” star explained that she felt scared inside and wondered if she would ever be able to speak again.
