Education was completely ignored during Tuesday's presidential debate hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as Breitbart News senior editor Joel B. Pollack noted. Ask Dr. Drew on wednesday.
Pollack appeared on Dr. Drew to discuss the debate, where he said it wasn't a “disaster” for former President Donald Trump, but that Vice President Kamala Harris “won” the debate and took advantage of it to appear strong and confident to her supporters, even though she didn't give good answers on the economy.
In contrast, Pollack said Trump has been too aggressive and has not used his platform to appeal to his supporters.
But the debate itself was deeply flawed, Pollack added, including bias from its moderators, who never raised China as a foreign policy issue, leaving that topic to the candidate (usually Trump), Pollack said. Education was also not addressed — a crucial issue for Americans, especially married women, concerned about the impact of coronavirus lockdowns, the imposition of transgender ideology and the power of teachers unions.
At one point in the show (at 31:40 in the video above), a Dr. Drew producer pointed out that her daughter, an Ivy League graduate, thought Kamala Harris performed well in the debate, particularly on the issue of abortion.
Pollack asked whether her daughter was single or married (she answered that she was single and had a longtime boyfriend) and noted that education is one of the most important issues for married women, but the issue was never mentioned during the debate and neither candidate personally addressed it.
“There was one question missing from the debate that any married woman would have noticed, and that was, there was nothing about education. There was nothing about education. And I think the concern that parents in America are having right now is what's going on in the schools.”
Search ABC News Transcript It was clear that the word “education” was never mentioned during the debate.
Pollack said if the moderator wasn't covering important issues, the candidates should, adding that Trump's response on abortion was “very good” but was cut off by the moderator.
