Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been indicted on new charges by a Manhattan grand jury, prosecutors announced Thursday, on the eve of his highly anticipated second sex-crimes trial in Manhattan.

The indictment, which will not be made public until Weinstein is indicted, may also include allegations of sexual assault by three women, prosecutors said at a separate hearing last week.

“A grand jury has indicted Mr. Weinstein,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg said during a morning court hearing.

“The actual indictment has not yet been made public, so I can't discuss the details.”

Prosecutors began presenting their case to a grand jury in mid-August. They did not name the three accusers, but they presented their case at a hearing last week.

Prosecutors say one assault happened at a Manhattan residential building between 2005 and 2006. The second accuser claims she was sexually assaulted at a TriBeCa hotel in May 2016.

A third woman alleges that Weinstein sexually assaulted her at the TriBeCa Grand Hotel in 2006.

The latest indictment adds charges to an ongoing sex crimes trial that followed the overturning of his original conviction and 23-year sentence in April.

The disgraced Hollywood producer did not attend Thursday's hearing because he was not cleared of the charges after undergoing emergency heart and lung surgery.

Weinstein's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, said Weinstein “nearly died” after undergoing open-heart surgery.

“He has a sort of shunt in his chest that's connected to a bag that drains fluids from his body,” Aidala said.

An update on his health condition is expected to be released on September 18th.Number.

Weinstein's new trial had been scheduled for November, but Judge Curtis Farber said Thursday it was “premature” to think it would still take place, given Weinstein's health issues.

Moreover, Weinstein's lawyers argued that the new indictment should be “separate” from previous indictments that prosecutors were planning to retry the disgraced Hollywood mogul.

“We will be ready to go to trial with additional survivors on November 12th,” Blumberg countered.
