Fifty-seven percent of registered voters believe life under a Biden-Harris administration is no better than it was under former President Donald Trump's administration four years ago, an RMG Research poll found Thursday.
The poll underscores voters' desire to change the country's direction, especially on the economy, a top issue in 2024. A Pew Research Center survey this week found that just 25% of Americans rate the economic situation under a Biden-Harris administration as “very good or good.”
The poll asked respondents, “Is your life better now than it was four years ago?”
The majority answered “no.”

The poll asked: “Has your personal financial situation gotten better or worse recently?”
The majority responded in the negative.
- 23% responded that their condition had improved “much” or “somewhat”

“Looking back over the past year, has your income kept up with inflation or lagged behind?” the poll finally asked.
The majority answered “no.”

Public Opinion Poll sampling The poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters Sept. 9-10 with a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.
Under the Biden-Harris administration, inflation has risen by about 20% overall, on average. About 70% of Americans are “very concerned” about food and consumer prices, according to the Pew Research Center. Concerns about housing costs have risen, along with worries about the labor market, the survey found.
