President Biden Uses the Term ‘Black Jobs’ at African-American Event

President Joe Biden on Friday used the phrase “black jobs,” a phrase criticized as racist by Democrats and journalists when former President Donald Trump described African-American immigrants as taking jobs.

Biden and Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris set Speaking at an event.

Biden said in his speech:

Thank you for all that you have taught me, thank you for all the love shown to me, and I wanted to host this brunch to celebrate the progress we have made.

Together, we are making the largest investment in Black people in American history. [sic]We have put racial equity at the center of everything we do, and with your help, in just three and a half years, we have created more than 2 million new Black jobs for Black Americans.

[Interjections]

Incidentally, the next office that should be held by a black person is the President of the United States.

When Trump used the word in a non-racist sense, Democrats and journalists tried to make a scandal out of it.

Breitbart News reported:

“The fact is [Biden’s] The big blow to black people is the millions of people allowed into the country through the border. [and] “They're taking black jobs right now,” Trump said during a debate with Biden. “They're taking black jobs, they're taking Hispanic jobs. You haven't seen it yet, but you're going to see the worst in the history of our country,” he added.

The morning after the debate, Democratic activists and left-leaning journalists slammed Trump's comments.

Most of the Democratic response focused on the literal phrase “black jobs” rather than on Trump's serious comments. [charge] Economic damage.

The idea that the presidency itself is a “black job” was coined by former first lady Michelle Obama, a concept also borrowed by Biden.
