Harris organizer objects to subpoena from Republican House Judiciary Committee Chair Jordan

Democratic strategists who helped organize the “White Men for Harris” call said they would fight back against the subpoena issued Friday by Republican House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio.

“I fully oppose the subpoena issued by Jim Jordan and the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee. The subpoena serves no legitimate legislative purpose and is invalid, unconstitutional and unenforceable,” said Mike Nellis, CEO of Authentic Campaigns. Post by X Late Friday.

The House Judiciary Committee previously issued a subpoena to Authentic Campaigns, the firm employed by the daughter of a New York judge overseeing former President Trump's hush money trial. In a letter sent late last month, Jordan called on Nellis to give a deposition with the firm and to sign an affidavit saying Authentic Campaigns had never had contact with Judge Juan Marchan.

Nellis also posted a letter from his legal team to Jordan, which he urged his followers to read.

“Authentic's operations are in no way related to the legal proceedings in New York against former President Trump,” the letter said, adding that the company “has no role, involvement or influence in those proceedings.”

“You have repeatedly implied the opposite, alleging that Judge Marchan may not have been impartial in presiding over former President Trump's case because of Authentic's 'work on behalf of President Trump's political opponents and the financial benefits that Marchan and the Authentic Campaigns may have derived from the prosecution and conviction of President Trump,' which is baseless and dangerous,” the letter continues.

The Hill has reached out to Jordan's office and the House Judiciary Committee.
