Donald Trump's path to victory is to contrast his policy agenda with Kamala Harris' radical record. “And to bring that back and to bring that back,” Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.) told moderator Mike Slater during Tuesday's televised debate. Breitbart News Daily.
Tiffany told Slater that Harris' far-left positions, such as eliminating private health insurance and fracking, are fatal to her, but that Trump, his supporters and his everyday supporters must get their message out and do the job the establishment media isn't doing.
He told Slater that although the president was clearly at a disadvantage, he liked much of what Trump said during Tuesday night's ABC News presidential debate.
“The most notable thing is that I call it the ABC debate. It was basically three against one,” Tiffany said. “So it reminds me of All-Star Wrestling as a kid. At one point the good guy is standing in the middle of the ring and two or three people come down from the top rope and chase him.”
ABC News hosts Lindsey Davis and David Muir “fact-checked” former President Donald Trump at least seven times during Tuesday night's presidential debate, but never did so about Vice President Kamala Harris, despite her multiple lies.
Tiffany said Americans want to embrace Harris' “turn the page” adage, but not in the way she presents it.
“Yes, we want to turn the page, but it's because of your policies,” he said.
listen:
The media was effusive in their praise of Harris, which was to be expected, but what the American people saw was a different debate, with Trump presenting a completely different vision and policies for a Biden-Harris administration.
“That was a new revelation for her,” Tiffany said. “You hear people in Washington saying, 'Oh, she obviously won the debate,' and the jargon in Washington is, yeah, she may have won the debate, but that's not who's going to decide this election. People in the real world have heard some things from President Trump: We need to secure the border, we need to stop this inflation.”
Tiffany also credited Trump for calling out the Biden-Harris administration's failed Afghanistan policy. Harris was surprising in blaming Trump for the administration's failures in Afghanistan, where 13 U.S. soldiers were killed.
“I thought his best answer was when he said about Afghanistan, 'You let us down there.' I think the American people are hearing that, or at least the people that want to hear it. … And we go on from here and continue to expose Vice President Harris for what she is: a radical leftist, as President Trump said,” Tiffany explained.
Trump duly exposed Harris' support for sex-reassignment surgery in prisons for illegal immigrants, but ABC's debate fact-checkers mistakenly called that out. time Harris has been promoting transgender issues for 20 years, according to a July 29 report by the left-leaning magazine Slate.
Tiffany agreed with Slater that it was important to support Trump for exposing Harris' radical record, because the mainstream media will likely continue to undermine him.
“What the American people, and the people of Wisconsin, hate is when someone says one thing locally and votes one way in Washington, D.C.,” Tiffany told Slater. “I know the mainstream media isn't going to get the message across that these people are two-faced and they're voting the opposite of what they say locally, but these last seven weeks are an opportunity to tell and show the American people, especially with paid advertising, that these people are far-left.”
“We just need to keep repeating it and bringing it back,” he added.
Tiffany spoke about the actual impact that a Biden-Harris open border would have in her home state of Wisconsin:
If you look at a situation like what happened in Prairie du Chien, just south of La Crosse, Wisconsin, where 5,400 people attended, a man broke into Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and beat up a woman who turned out to be a Venezuelan gang member. No detention orders were issued in Madison or Minneapolis because they are sanctuary cities. As these stories spread in small town America, especially small town Wisconsin, I think Donald Trump is going to win Wisconsin. And if he wins Wisconsin, he's going to be the next president.
He detailed the tragic story and how many more similar events could impact the election.
Police arrested a person in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, who turned out to be a Venezuelan gang member. The local police chief found out this guy was committing the same thing in Madison, violent crimes. When he came across the border in El Paso in 2023, he went to Minneapolis. He was reselling stolen property in Minneapolis. They didn't call Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they didn't deport him because they're a sanctuary city. He went to Madison, and now it's no longer a property crime, it's a crime against a person, he's beating people. And somehow he ended up in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, about an hour to an hour and a half west of Madison, where he beat up women and underage girls.
This is happening all across America. Think of Springfield, Ohio. It's happening in Aurora, Colorado. It's happening all across America if we don't stop it now. We have to keep getting the message out.
Unfortunately, Tiffany had to share yet another story from Wisconsin that shows the pain Americans are suffering due to the left-wing open border policies being pushed by the Biden-Harris Administration.
They brought thousands of these people to Whitewater, Wisconsin, in southern Wisconsin. And finally, city officials wrote a letter to the Biden administration a few months ago saying, “We can't handle this. We need your help.” In the last few months, a man who was in my district illegally in Abbotsford, a small town in northern Wisconsin, the furthest from the border, shot and stabbed two minor children. A lumber truck driver in Ladysmith, northern Wisconsin, was run off the road and killed. The father of three daughters is no more. A second-time illegal drunk driver should have been deported at the same time as the first offense, but they didn't. This is happening all across America.
Tiffany thinks Trump is wise to continue criticizing what's happening in Springfield, Ohio.
“I always say that sometimes it seems like Democrats are playing chess and we're playing checkers and we can't keep up with them,” he said. “They really took the bait with this. By reporting on this story about dogs and cats and geese, they've put a spotlight on Springfield. If you look below the surface, you're like, 'Look at all these crazy Republicans saying Haitians are killing and eating geese,' or whatever. First of all, they'll all know it's true. But more importantly, it'll shine a light on Springfield, Ohio, and people will think, 'So what's going on there?'”
He said Americans understand that the introduction of 20,000 Haitians into a community of 60,000 is extreme: “Traffic accidents, everything. It's just awful. Social services are overwhelmed with the kids' schools. They're not getting an education because these people have never been part of American society.”
Tiffany ended by urging people to vote, vote early if they can, and for Trump supporters to encourage others to get to the polls too.
“Talk to the occasional hunter. Tell them they're busy hunting in the fall and they need to vote in this election,” he said. “And Mike, in this election, young people are free agents. They've seen horrible inflation. They can't even afford rent, let alone buy a home. They're free agents. And we, the Republican Party, can win them over.”
