Kate Winslet revealed some intimate details about her personal life after being asked for sex advice during a recent podcast appearance.
“I think we've all had moments in our lives where we just haven't felt physically satisfied and like the best version of ourselves that we wanted to feel,” the actress said.How to failPodcast with Elizabeth Day.
Winslet was responding to a listener who detailed her own personal struggles, in which she had gained weight and then lost interest in sex with her boyfriend.

“And it doesn't necessarily have to do with weight, it might just have to do with what's going on at that time in your life,” Winslet continued.
“One thing I'll say is that sometimes women can have a really low sex drive because they have something wrong with their thyroid. And they could also have something wrong with their testosterone levels.”

“A lot of people don't know this, but women have testosterone in their bodies. Just like eggs, when it's gone, it's gone,” the 48-year-old “Titanic” actress elaborated.
“So once it's gone, you have to replace it, which is possible, and then you can feel sexy again,” Winslet said. “I know,” she added, without providing further details. Winslet has been married to her third husband, Edward Abel Smith, since 2012.

“So once it's gone, you need to replace it. It's possible, and you'll feel sexy again. I believe so.”

“Physically, also get your thyroid levels and testosterone levels checked, as these can have a direct impact on how you feel, which is not your fault,” she said.
“Our bodies are weird and do weird things, especially as we get older,” she added, “so it's possible that declining hormone levels are having a bigger impact on how you feel about sex with your boyfriend than you think.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, “[H]Oral testosterone may be effective in boosting libido in some postmenopausal women, but there is little research on how safe it is or how effective it is in the long term, and it may cause side effects.
“In most cases, other treatments are tried before testosterone, including low doses of estrogen hormone and a type of counseling called sex therapy. Some antidepressants may also increase libido.”
A representative for Winslet did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
