After slamming global superstar Taylor Swift, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) criticized former President Trump, calling him the “smallest man in history,” in reference to a Swift song.
“I hate Taylor Swift!” President Trump wrote on True Social on Sunday, days after the “Love Story” singer endorsed his political rival, Vice President Harris, in the 2024 presidential election.
Cheney, a long-time critic of Trump, reposted a screenshot of Trump's comments on social platform X, writing: “Says the smallest man in history.”
This is likely a nod to the song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” from Swift's latest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift, 34, formally endorsed Harris shortly after Tuesday night's debate between the vice president and President Trump. The megastar said she was backing Harris because she is “fighting for rights and causes, and I believe we need warriors to defend them.”
“I believe she is a poised and talented leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if led with calm rather than chaos,” Swift wrote to her more than 280 million Instagram followers. Harris' campaign quickly jumped on the endorsement, lining up celebrity endorsements in fundraising emails.
Swift signed her message “childless cat lady” and criticized past comments made by Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) against Harris and other prominent Democrats.
Trump initially appeared to downplay Swift's endorsement, saying last week that he was “not a fan of Taylor Swift” and that it was “just a matter of time” before she endorsed a Democrat, and suggested she might “pay the price in the market.”
Like Swift, Cheney has backed Harris, citing the “danger” posed by Trump. Swift's father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, also backed Harris, saying Americans have a “duty” to uphold the Constitution, regardless of party affiliation.
