Trump to Speak in X Space Evening After Surviving Second Assassination Attempt

Former President Donald Trump has announced that he will speak at X-Space on Monday at 8pm ET.

“Listen in tonight at 8pm ET on X Space live from Mar-a-Lago. Set a reminder and be sure to tune in!” Trump announced in an X post on Monday, sharing a link where social media users could visit X Space and tune in live.

So far, President Trump has only spoken once at X-Space, when he gave a live, unscripted interview with tech mogul Elon Musk on August 12.

It's unclear whether the 45th president will host X-Space alone on Monday night or whether he will be joined by others who will speak via live chat.

Notably, Trump's announcement that he would be doing another X-Space mission came the day after he survived a second assassination attempt.

On Sunday, the would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, was believed to have been hiding in bushes near the Trump International Golf Course, waiting to ambush Trump as he came into view as he was playing golf.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Routh was carrying a rifle with a scope, a backpack and a Go-Pro.

Secret Service agents had apparently been a hole or two ahead of Trump to secure the area while he was playing golf, and encountered Routh before he fired shots at the 45th president.

Deputies appear to have fired shots at Routh, who then fled the scene in a vehicle. Witnesses were able to capture photos of the getaway vehicle and its license plate, the sheriff's office said. From there, police cornered and detained the suspect.

The FBI has said it is currently investigating what it believes to be a second assassination attempt on President Trump, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (Republican) has announced that the state will be conducting its own investigation separate from the federal investigation.

It's worth noting that just five days before the second assassination attempt on President Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris told millions of Americans live during Tuesday's presidential debate that President Trump “has been wanting to be a dictator since day one” and that he had launched “the worst attack on democracy since the Civil War,” a statement that no doubt infuriated some crazed viewers.

Notably, Routh sent an X-post to President Joe Biden earlier this year, writing, “Democracy is on the ballot and we cannot lose. We cannot fail. The world is looking to us to show the way.”

The vice president, who is also this year's Democratic nominee, posted the exact same language on social media as the suspected assassin of President Trump.

Harris released a vague statement after the assassination attempt on Trump, writing, “After receiving reports of gunfire near former President Trump and his property in Florida, I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America.”

But Ms Harris failed to clearly explain to her supporters that Mr Trump is not an assassin or a threat to democracy, nor did she urge them to refrain from further assassination attempts.

As Breitbart News reported, Sept. 15 was the second assassination attempt that President Trump has survived in less than two months.

Trump narrowly survived the assassination attempt on July 13, when Crooks shot him in the ear while he was speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The first assassination attempt killed former Fire Chief Corey Comperatore and seriously injured two other rally attendees, David Duch and James Copenhaver.
