Georgia State Police say a homeless man was arrested after allegedly performing sexual acts on two children and an adult at a children's park in Marietta.
Cobb County Arrest Warrant say Matthew Justin Bishop allegedly pulled down the pants of a 7-year-old, a 9-year-old and their parent and made them completely naked in Victory Park just before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. He also allegedly called the girls “beautiful” while they were partially naked.
“I'm very worried. I'm very concerned to say the least.”
The man was charged with sexual abuse of a child, second-degree child abuse and indecent exposure.
Parents who visited the park told WANF-TV that the incident was extremely disturbing but not surprising because of the growing homeless population there.
“It's very disturbing. It's very scary to say the least,” said mother Tracy Murray, who was at the park with her daughters. “It's a children's park and it's very disturbing to think that this could have happened to us.”
She says she witnessed a lot of illegal and inappropriate behavior at the park.
“Sexual activity. Discarded condoms. Discarded liquor bottles. People going in and out of the toilets. I just wish they would step up patrols a little and start cleaning up the park,” Murray added.
Bishop was booked into the Cobb County Jail.
