A West Virginia man is accused of a string of unspeakable crimes in August and September, including the brutal rape of a pregnant woman and an out-of-control road rage incident in which he allegedly chased and crashed another vehicle.
Anthony Fletcher, 48, is facing multiple felony charges after a woman accused him on Sept. 14 of kidnapping and sexually assaulting her on Aug. 24. WBOY Reported.
The rape charge emerged after Fletcher was accused of chasing and threatening to kill another driver after a Sept. 13 car crash.
According to a police report obtained by the outlet, the woman was walking along Mill Fork Road in the small town of Camden-on-Gorey when a man “pulled his car off while driving, forced her to sit in the passenger seat” and “threatened to kill her and her boyfriend if she did not.”
The alleged victim, who was pregnant at the time of the assault, said Fletcher took her to a home across the road, “put her in the shower, took her into his bedroom, handcuffed her and made her get on to his bed.”
The man then allegedly forced the woman to perform a sexual act, during which the woman said he “put his hands around her neck and choked her so hard she 'saw stars.'”
The horrific assault was made even more shocking by the fact that during the rape, Fletcher allegedly “bite[ed]her nose” and punched her multiple times in the abdomen “in an attempt to harm her unborn baby”.
Police said the man then “forced the victim into a shower in an attempt to destroy evidence.”
It is also said that the suspect “repeatedly stated his intention to kill the victim and had already had two holes dug.”
In the vehicle accident that occurred approximately three weeks later, police said they were called to reports of an accident in Camden-on-Gorey.
WBOY reported that when officers arrived on scene, they found “both vehicles had already left the scene,” but spotted one of the vehicles on Coon Creek Road, where the driver said Fletcher “purposefully pursued him” and slammed the passenger side of the truck into the driver's side at a high rate of speed.
The driver claimed Fletcher got out of the car and chased him on foot, yelling, “I'm going to kill you, you rat!”
There were two other people in the car at the time Fletcher was allegedly hit, and police said they corroborated the driver's statement.
Fletcher is currently being held at Central Regional Jail, charged with first-degree sexual assault, aggravated assault, kidnapping, strangulation and attempted murder.
