Police say a 39-year-old man was shot in the leg in the heart of Times Square early Tuesday morning.
Police said the shootout happened just after 4 a.m. near a movie theater and other attractions on West 42nd Street, near the corner of Seventh Avenue, and the victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the right leg.
Three teenagers were arrested shortly thereafter in connection with the shooting, law enforcement sources said.
At least one young man was seen being handcuffed and led away from the scene, according to photos taken by The Washington Post.
Police recovered eight shell casings from the roadway, officials said.
It was not immediately clear if there had been any confrontation before the shooting or if the victim knew the suspected gunman.
Police say the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, but they do not have information on any arrests.
