Stephen A. Smith Links Travis Kelce’s Slow Start to Taylor Swift Romance

Like many NFL fans, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith seems to be fed up with the drama surrounding Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce's romantic relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift, and he took the opportunity to ridicule Kelce for the incident.

After Kelce struggled in last Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Smith warned Kelce that it might be time to forget about Taylor Swift and get back to football.

Kelce's game was very slow, with just one catch for five yards and a touchdown for the second straight game. The Daily Mail reported that Kelce has just four catches for 39 yards this season.

Meanwhile, league television cameras again gave plenty of airtime to Kelsey's girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who was again sitting in the stands cheering on her boyfriend.

“I love my half-brother Travis Kelcy. [But] “I saw more Taylor Swift than I saw Travis Kelce yesterday, Sunday afternoon, and other times of the day. That shouldn't have happened yesterday,” Smith said on ESPN's broadcast on Monday. First Take.

“We were supposed to see more from Travis Kelce than her yesterday, but that didn't happen. We have to work harder. We only had 39 yards receiving in the first two games,” he scolded.

“Well, it's time. Football season is here. The honeymoon is over. Let's get to work,” Smith advised.

Fellow sports commentator Jason Whitlock also harshly criticized the 34-year-old Kelce for his on-field performance.

“I think that all of the extracurricular activities and the pressures and burdens of being Taylor Swift's boyfriend are taking energy and focus away from football,” Whitlock said on his podcast this month.
