Shanahan: ‘Democrats feel entitled’ to destroy democracy

The Democratic Party's biggest talking points are often met with utter hypocrisy, something RFK Jr.'s former running mate, Nicole Shanahan, knows all too well.

“The left is eating away at the best parts of itself, and I say eating away at them because they're actually working against their own compassion and their own interest in social growth,” Shanahan said. Glenn Beck.

“There's really something about identity politics and how it feeds on itself,” she adds. “I experienced that as a philanthropist, coming back to Oakland and really working on the issues that matter and trying to identify them through a rigorous logical process.”

There she discovered that issues like homelessness, drug abuse and educational inequality were actually deeply connected to nutrition and health.

“So I set out to solve that problem. Of all the NGOs that I was approached by or worked with, not one person was interested in real food. A lot of them were interested in activist work and pouring millions of dollars into re-grant programs that didn't actually help people, making people dependent on nonprofit funding,” she explains.

Shanahan finds the left's entire framework flawed because the left refuses to address the problem, preferring drugs and socially divisive solutions, while simple proper nutrition can help kids succeed and keep them off the streets.

“The culture of thinking about rich and poor and black and white was completely wrong,” she continues, “and when you realize how many people benefit from that worldview, that framework of worldview, it's very predatory.”

Not only does Shanahan believe that the left has consistently acted against its interests in that field, but he also believes the left's claims that democracy would be at risk if Donald Trump wins the presidential election.

“In 2020, I didn't believe the claims coming out of the right that the election was stolen,” Shanahan told Glenn. “I believe them now.”

“Why did you come there?” Glenn asks.

While campaigning with RFK Jr., several states began suing to have them removed from the ballot.

“I can't believe it's legal for a political opponent to sue you to remove you from the ballot, but apparently that's normal for Democrats and Republicans don't do that,” she explains.

The lawsuit filed by New York really opened her eyes: “This was a judge who was not acting on behalf of the American people, but on behalf of the Democratic Party.”

“As I thought about this process and realized how much they were willing to disrespect the Democratic process in this country in order to win, and how entitled they felt to do so, I realized something was terribly wrong,” she continues.
