There have been multiple assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump, including one near the New York rally.
Investigative journalist James Larino posted on X that he had heard from a source at the Nassau County Police Department that “the perimeter has been breached and blue barrels have been taken” from the area surrounding tonight's Trump rally.
He added that sources had told him that while police were searching with dog units, police “found an explosive device in one of the vehicles and the driver fled into the woods.”
Nassau County police later disputed this story, saying they were responding to a “suspicious incident” and that “no explosives were found.”
Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder also contacted X to dispute the claims. He wrote, “The reports that explosives were found at the scene are unfounded. An individual who may have been training a bomb-sniffing dog near the scene is being investigated. The individual with the bomb-sniffing dog falsely reported that explosives were found and is currently in police custody.”
Sara Gonzalez The creators of “Sara Gonzalez Unfiltered” aren't entirely convinced by the official story.
“Am I the only one who thinks it's a little odd that someone who trains explosive detection dogs happened to be training them on the grounds of a Trump rally and the police A) didn't know about it and B) had no connection to the police?” Gonzalez asked.
Whatever the truth, Gonzalez doesn't blame people for questioning it.
“We're seeing these bizarre situations happening, especially with Donald Trump's life being put at risk, so I don't blame people for jumping to that conclusion,” Gonzalez said.
Jason Buttrill, senior researcher and writer for Glenn Beck, doesn't disagree.
“You're right, Sarah, and I agree,” Buttrill said, adding, “Just look at the situation, not just in the country, but the whole world right now. I don't think the United States has an acting president right now.”
