Keith Urban gives update on Nicole Kidman after her mom’s death

Keith Urban has given fans an update on his wife, Nicole Kidman, who he said was “heartbroken” when she announced the sudden death of her mother earlier this month.

“Oh, everybody's good. Thanks for listening,” the 56-year-old country singer said. He told the Times In an interview published Friday.

He did not comment further on the death of his mother-in-law, Janelle.

Kidman, 57, had just arrived at the Venice Film Festival on September 7 but left early after learning of her mother's death.

“Babygirl” director Halina Raine read a handwritten note from Kidman, who won best actress for her performance in the film, during a scheduled appearance.

“Shortly after arriving in Venice today, I learned that my beautiful and brave mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, has passed away,” the note read. “I am devastated and must be with my family, but this award is for her.”

“All the messages we have received from people who loved and respected our mother mean more to us than words can express.”

It is unclear how Janelle, who was 84, died.
