President Biden forgot which world leader he was meant to introduce at a press conference following the Quad summit on Saturday, stammering with a confused look on his face and yelling at staff.
The 81-year-old Biden was due to invite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the stage but appeared unsure which of the three visiting government leaders to mention by name.
“Thank you all so much for being here today. Now, who do I want to introduce next? Who's next?” Biden shouted at the end of his speech.
It was then announced that Prime Minister Modi, the leader of the world's largest democracy, would be next on the stage, and he soon approached Biden and shook his hand.
The outgoing president, who meets with foreign leaders visiting the US for the UN General Assembly, is hosting members of the Quad alliance for a brief summit at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Quad, established to counter Chinese influence, includes the United States, Japan, India and Australia.
