‘I Promise You, Hezbollah Will Get the Message’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement in Hebrew and English on Sunday after Israeli forces struck an Iranian-backed terrorist group in southern Lebanon after days of shocking attacks.

Netanyahu's comments came after Israel targeted hundreds of Hezbollah rocket launchers and other Hezbollah facilities in Lebanon on Saturday and Sunday, with Hezbollah firing dozens of rockets at Israel but causing relatively minor damage.

He did not specifically mention the pager attacks that killed dozens of Hezbollah officials and injured thousands more, the walkie-talkie explosions that killed at least a dozen and injured hundreds more, or the precision airstrikes that killed one of the group's top commanders and several other leaders, but he warned that Hezbollah would get the “message” that Israel was letting northerners return to their homes, if it hadn't already.

Prime Minister Netanyahu also released a slightly revised English version of the statement.

On October 7th, the Hamas terrorist monsters invaded Israel and murdered our people, raped and beheaded women, burned babies alive, and took 255 innocent people hostage, including many Americans.

The next day, October 8, another Iranian terrorist proxy, Hezbollah, attacked Israel without any provocation. They fired missiles and rockets at our cities. They forced 60,000 Israelis from their homes along the Lebanese border and made them refugees in their own country.

They continued to attack us for the next few months.

No country can afford to launch indiscriminate rocket attacks on its own cities. We can't afford that.

We will take all necessary steps to restore security and bring our people safely home.

Northern Israel remains on high alert as it prepares for a possible all-out war with Hezbollah.
