A United States Secret Service (USSS) uniformed unit member accidentally shot and injured himself in Washington, DC on Saturday night.
The USSS told Fox News Digital that the “accidental shooting” occurred near 32nd Avenue and Fessenden Street on the city's northwest side just before 8 p.m.
The gun was fired while the officer was on duty and handling his duty weapon.

The USSS added that the agent's injuries were not life-threatening and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment and examination.

Lt. Paul Mayhair, a public affairs officer for the USSS Uniformed Forces, added that no other individuals were reported injured.
