Harris holds 7-point lead over Trump in Wisconsin poll

Among Wisconsin voters, Vice President Harris holds a 7-point lead over former President Trump. Wisconsin Watch Poll the MassINC Polling Group said Monday.

In a poll conducted from September 12 to 18, Harris' approval rating was 53% and Trump's was 46%, resulting in a head-to-head contest.

In the multi-candidate race, Harris leads Trump by one percentage point with 51%, who trails him with 43%. Former third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Green Party candidate Jill Stein each have 1% support. Another 2% are undecided and 1% prefer not to answer.

Harris also has a lead among undecided voters, but by a small margin: When undecided voters were asked which side they supported, support for Trump rose by 2 percentage points.

Kennedy last month ended his presidential bid by endorsing Trump and then launched a legal campaign to remove his name from the ballot in states he believes could harm Trump's chances of winning.

His efforts have had some success so far: The Wisconsin Supreme Court agreed Friday to rule on the issue after Kennedy filed suit on Sept. 3. But he will remain on the ballot in other states, including Michigan.

Harris continues to perform well in Wisconsin polls, both compared to President Biden's performance before he dropped out of the race and compared to her performance in other key battleground states.

The Decision Desk average of Wisconsin polls gives Harris a 2.2 percentage point lead over Trump, 49.6 percent to 47.4 percent. In Michigan and Pennsylvania, Harris leads by 1.2 points.

The latest poll included 800 Wisconsin voters and has a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.
