Polls show former President Donald Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris among Teamsters members in all 50 states.
The International Federation of Truck Drivers has decided not to endorse the company in the 2024 elections, but its latest poll shows show Harris has many members who support the former president, not only nationally but also in individual states. Of all the states and districts surveyed, only the District of Columbia Teamsters voted for Harris over Trump, a nearly 180-degree reversal of the approval rating President Joe Biden received in 2020. In the battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona, Trump leads Harris by double digits.
Michigan — 61.7% to 32.5%
Wisconsin — 57% to 40.5%
Pennsylvania — 65.3% to 31.4%
Georgia — 56.3% to 40.7%
Arizona — 57.3% to 38.7%
Outside of battleground states like California, where Democrats have an overwhelming majority, Trump is leading Harris, but by a narrow margin: 48.8% to 46.4%.
Notably, the same poll showed Biden leading Trump by a similar margin before he dropped out of the race.
The Teamsters have declined to endorse the party in the 2024 presidential election.
“Unfortunately, neither major candidate has been able to seriously promise our union that workers' interests will always come before big business,” Teamsters President Sean M. O'Brien said in a statement. “We asked both Trump and Harris for a commitment to not interfere in vital union work or in the Teamsters' core industries, and to respect our members' right to strike, but we did not receive that commitment.”
The decision not to support it has caused growing panic among Democrats.
Breitbart News reported:
Democrats are reportedly concerned that the Teamsters union's recent refusal to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president could be a warning sign of former President Donald Trump's victory, according to pro-Harris labor union officials, Democratic strategists and allies.
“After the Teamsters union, which represents more than one million labor members, announced it would not endorse any candidate, despite polls showing the majority of its members backing Trump, Democrats are reportedly taking this as a warning sign. According to To POLITICO” ” he added.
